Art Deco Rhinestone Necklace

This pretty Art Deco period rhinestone necklace probably dates from the period 1930s to 1950s.

It is made in silver tone metal with spherical and baguette claw set rhinestones in two sizes. Some of the stones are deep warm amber which is unusual for the period.

The classic design is of the type often called Streamline Moderne or Art Moderne and is typical of the period.

Tribal Style Tibetan Silver and Glass Bead Necklace

This really is a very special one of a kind necklace which falls to chest level when worn by the average person. It is made up from a carefully graduated collection of Tibetan silver handmade beads which are adorned with traditional Buddhist symbols. Picture 6 shows these in close-up so that you can see the workmanship.

A large oval bead in the centre front is flanked by sphericals in diminishing size. These are interspersed with saucer shaped Indian green glass beads. The whole strung upon a stout leather throng.

Please note that Tibetan silver is an alloy which is not equivalent to sterling silver.

Vintage Tribal Style Faux Mother of Pearl and Glass Necklace

This is a vintage multi strand necklace dating from the 1970s or early 1980s but very much in turn with today’s tribal/ethnic look. Disks of iridescent amber faux mother of pearl acrylic are interspersed with tawny coloured spherical and saucer beads of polished wood. These are concentrated at the centre front where they fall in profusion from narrow strands of amber glass beads.

The necklace falls to mid chest level when worn by the average person and closes with a loop and catch fitting in silver tone metal.

Vintage Tribal style glass and composition bead necklace

This is a vintage multi strand necklace dating from the 1960s or early 1970s but very much in turn with today’s tribal/ethnic look.

Spherical beads of rosy pink glass are interspersed with red faux pearl and strung upon a profusion of copper coloured metallic chains. These are concentrated at the centre front where they fall in profusion.

The necklace can be worn falling full length to past chest level. It can also, as here, be doubled choker style around the models neck for a more interesting informal effect.  It closes with a loop and catch fitting in silver tone metal.
